Diversity Scholarship Award Winner Brenda Foster Announced

The Diversity Committee is pleased to announce that Brenda Foster has been selected as the 2019 Diversity Scholarship Recipient.

Brenda is pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Washington iSchool. She is an active and effective leader at her school, currently serving as a Diversity Officer for the Association of Library and Information Science Students (ALISS) and also as a board member for the University of Washington Professional Continuing Education (PCE) Student Advisory Board. “Diversity requires a commitment from everyone,” she states.

Professionally, she has a keen interest in data management and library services backed by data analysis. In 2018, she worked for the Library of Congress as a Metadata Intern and lead a project to categorize metadata inconsistencies by using Excel.
