OhioLINK Executive Director Tom Sanville Steps Down

Thursday, March 11 marked the 108th Directors Meeting that Tom Sanville has lead for OhioLINK. This meeting also was the final meeting that Tom will lead as Executive Director of the internationally known consortium. After day long meeting a reception was held in Tom’s honor. Susan Scott and Ann Watson, both past presidents of ALAO, presented Tom with a plaque of recognition from ALAO for all that he has done for academic libraries in the state of Ohio during his eighteen years at OhioLINK. Susan also thanked Tom for his support of government advocacy for academic libraries.

State Librarian Jo Budler moves on to Kansas

Several ALAO members attended a farewell reception for Ohio’s State Librarian Jo Budler. Scottie Cochrane, Susan Scott, Sheila Shellabarger, Lois Szudy and Ann Watson represented academic libraries. The reception took place on February 24 and was held at the State Library of Ohio. Jo will be moving to Kansas where on March 8 she will begin her new duties as the State Librarian of Kansas. Ohio will miss her leadership!

ALAO Represented at Kent State Library Careers Night

Susan Scott and Ann Watson represented ALAO at the Library Careers Night held at the State Library of Ohio on Wednesday, March 10. The evening was hosted by the Kent State University School of Library and Information Science. The evening was well attended by students in the program, community members interested in a library career and some undergraduate students.
