Kathy Burns, Southern State Community College

SSIG has been busy putting together the spring workshop scheduled for May 14, 2010 at OHIONET. We are presenting “Saving Our Libraries One Grant at a Time.” The keynote speaker will be Becky Cropper.

Mrs. Cropper has worked for Ohio State University Extension for 32 years. Since 1987 she has had grant funding in the range of $100,000.00 to support local 4-H programs. She has presented workshops at the local level on grants writing for the Brown County Schools, statewide for the Ohio Extension Educators and nationally for the National Safety Council Youth Division and for classes at the Ohio State University. She wrote a chapter for the Ohio Extension Grantsmanship Notebook and has served on grant review teams for Ohio Extension and the Regional School to Work program.

The workshop will be hands on for the participants who will “write” a grant during the daylong session.

We regret to inform you that Bill Stoddard had to step down as co-chair for personal reasons. Mary Ayres from Southern State Community College has agreed to take his place. Thank you Mary!
