The ALAO Research & Publications Committee is pleased to announce the winner of the 2025 ALAO Research Grant, Catie Carlson, Associate Senior Librarian & Library Director at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College’s Marcotte Library. Catie’s research project is entitled, “Seeking socially just information: Exploring adult learners’ knowledge application for critical algorithmic literacy.” Congratulations, Catie!

This ALAO grant seeks to promote and support research projects proposed by ALAO members. Grants are intended to help in funding such incremental research costs as: the organization of data, the hiring of interviewers or other assistants, temporary access to specific databases or software, and modest travel costs associated with research.
